Infestasi caplak pada ternak kuda di desa Pinabetengan Raya, Kecamatan Tompaso Barat, Kabupaten Minahasa, Provinsi Sulawesi Utara

This study aims to identify the types of ticks, calculate prevalence tick infestations, preferences for body part infestations and sex in horses Pinabetengan Raya Village, West Tompaso District, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province. research was carried out one month (thirty days) on 50 horses. Ticks are collected manually using tweezers sequence starting from head, neck, back, abdomen, groin, tail legs. The samples were put bottles containing 70% alcohol. results this found that type infested horse livestock Boophilus microplus. infestation is 60.78%. preference based be highest neck with an average 2.82 individual ticks / head 1.75, back 0.25, abdomen 0.72, groin 1.27, legs 0.25 0.74 ticks/horse. Infestation higher females (average 10.48 horse) when compared males (mean 2.64 ticks/horse). identification microplus 62%, 2.82% mares 10.48% ticks/horse livestock.Keywords : Infestation, Prevalence, Preference, Horse
